Why You Shouldn’t Stop Marketing
If you weren’t able to tune in to day one of our 3Seed Couch Surfing series on Instagram Live, don’t worry! We are going to be putting out a wrap up for each installment of the series on our blog.
Episode one of our series was with John Mulder and was full of timely takeaways about maintaining morale when working from home. One of the key messages Mulder drove home is that now is not the time to stop marketing your business.
Sure, it may be a good time to scale back certain aspects of your marketing plan, but your marketing shouldn’t stop entirely, and here’s why:
- Marketing is building a relationship with your customer so if all you are focused on is running ads, that is not enough. This isn’t just true of right now. This advice is timeless.
- Advertising and marketing isn’t an expense. It’s an investment, and one that you can’t afford to give up completely.
- Services with long sales cycles are hurt the most when you stop marketing. So, unless you are a retailer or restaurant or someone in the entertainment industry, it is important you continue to share your message.
- Think bonding, not branding. Your customers need to feel connected to your brand but you can do it in a way that is empathetically-driven, rather than sales-driven. We are all in this together.
- Get innovative with ways you can ease the pain of your consumers. One incredible local example is how our local distilleries have stepped up to create hand sanitizer. This is a brilliant example of using your business to fill a need and build community confidence.
Like Mulder and Courtney discussed, we believe in being able to continue your marketing now more than ever. And, we are ready to help.
